GABRIELA “GABBY” TAPIA

Gabby Tapia is a devoted single mother to a 13-year-old daughter and an 9-year-old son with autism. Her personal journey has given her a deep understanding of the challenges faced by survivors of domestic violence and families caring for children with special needs. In 2018, she met founder Brianne Wiseley while staying at a domestic violence shelter in San Clemente, California—an experience that forged a lasting bond and shared mission to help others.

Gabby worked as a medical assistant before stepping away from her career to become a full-time caregiver when her son’s autism required specialized, hands-on care. As he grew older and physically stronger, it became increasingly difficult for her to manage his care alone, despite providing him with emotional stability and unconditional love. In an incredibly difficult and selfless decision, and with her son’s best interests in mind, Gabby arranged for him to live with his father—even though his father had a history of abusive behavior toward her in the past. She made this sacrifice to ensure her son’s safety and to meet his growing physical needs.

Today, Gabby is dedicated to transforming her personal hardships into hope and change for others. She passionately advocates for survivors of domestic violence and individuals with disabilities, working to create a more accessible, supportive, and compassionate world for all.
